Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking an embedded Linux engineer to join the Common Linux team in a hybrid work model. You will maintain Yocto-based Linux distributions used across multiple product lines and hardware platforms, collaborating with international colleagues on meaningful, complex challenges in embedded Linux.

You will grow into contributing to platform architecture and long-term Linux strategy while improving tooling, pipelines, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Solid hands-on experience with embedded Linux development (user space and/or kernel space).
• Familiarity with Yocto Project or Buildroot; willing to learn Yocto on the job.

Responsibilities

• Integrating and maintaining embedded Linux software across existing hardware platforms, with kernel configuration and low-level debugging.
• Contributing to user-space tooling, scripting, and automation using Bash and Python.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide Linux expertise across product lines.
• Improving internal Linux processes, testing pipelines, and technical documentation for quality and efficiency.
• Growing into contributing to platform architecture and long-term Linux strategy for the Common Linux team.
