Job summary

Baker Hughes in Warsaw, Poland seeks an Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics to design high-temperature power electronic modules and motor drives for downhole tools, spanning requirement spec, architecture, simulation, and verification. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, perform Matlab/Simulink simulations to validate control algorithms, support PCB layout, and develop test systems.

English communication essential in an international environment.

Qualifications

  • Above-average university degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with the focus on power electronics.
  • Practical experience in circuit-and system design of power electronics, gathered during internships, thesis and/or professional experience in the above area of responsibility.
  • Experience and knowledge in the field of power electronics topologies, in particular various voltage converters and control systems for electrical machines
  • Knowledge of the new technologies of power electronic components such as wide band-gap devices (GaN or SiC).
  • Knowledge in the area of measurement and control engineering.
  • Experienced in handling modern electronic laboratory equipment.
  • Good written and verbal English skills required due to working in an internationally diverse working environment

Take ownership by leading complex projects

As an electrical engineer, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary project team within our product development department and work closely with project managers. You will be responsible for developing complex electronic circuits designed for use in downhole drilling tools under extreme environmental conditions. In this role, you will strengthen our power and pulser team by developing advanced motor drives and high‑power‑density switching power supplies for high-temperature downhole applications. Your responsibilities will span the entire life cycle of electronic design, including requirement specification, architecture design, simulation, implementation, verification & validation, and documentation.

As Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics you will be responsible for:
  • Circuit design of power electronic modules, including mixed‑signal circuitry.

To be successful in this role you will:

The initial pay range for this position will be PLN 166,400 To 228,800. There are no provisions of any collective agreement relating to pay which will be applied to this position.
