Job summary

Fort Worth ISD is seeking a Teacher Assistant I - Grant Funded to support certified staff in a Title I setting. You will reinforce reading and math skills, work with students individually or in small groups, and assist with assessments and materials.

The role includes helping students with special needs, supporting IEP objectives, and contributing to a safe classroom environment. This is a grant-funded, on-site position with potential for continuation depending on funds.

Qualifications

• Accredited high school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with children and/or parents.
• Highly Qualified options include an Associate degree or 48 hours or ParaEducator Training.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred in some settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reading, language arts, math, science and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and reinforce instructional materials.
• Support students with special needs to promote inclusion and IEP objectives.
• Participate in the IEP process as needed.
• Assist with lunch, bus, playground and non-instructional duties.
• Help with record-keeping and distribution of educational materials.
• Communicate with parents to foster effective involvement.
