An established industry player in special education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. Milestones Day School and Transitions Program is a year-round private special education school (elementary, middle, high school, & post high school) located in Waltham, MA and works with students with autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and a variety of attention and/or psychiatric challenges. We service students ranging in age from elementary grades through post high school, and our staff work in multi-disciplinary teams to support students in particular grade cohorts. We are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant to join our team.
Teaching Assistants/Counselors work with the classroom teachers and collaborate with the students’ broader team (e.g., speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, transition specialists etc) to increase students’ success within and beyond the classroom. It is the Teaching Assistant’s responsibility to supervise students in various academic, therapeutic, and community settings while promoting the independence of the student. The Teaching Assistant will work with the students to explore and integrate reasonable accommodations in the student’s daily routine and to promote students’ individualized goals.
Hours: Full-Time 7:30AM-3:00PM.
