Job summary

Flowable is seeking an ambitious DevOps Engineer to operate and continuously improve Flowable-based solutions for clients in production. You will ensure availability, security and performance while automating the platform and scaling it to meet demand.

You will collaborate across operations, incident management, platform engineering and change management to deliver robust, automated infrastructure and reliable services.

Qualifications

• We are looking for a proactive, open-minded DevOps Engineer with cloud-native focus.
• At least 3 years of experience as Software or DevOps Engineer.
• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration, GitOps approach.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or GitHub.
• Proficiency with Bash, Python or similar scripting languages.
• Strong debugging skills across distributed systems and infrastructure.
• Understanding of IAM and container/security concepts.
• Experience with SLAs and working in regulated environments is a plus.
• Nice to have: Azure, Terraform, ArgoCD, observability tools, Java/Spring, Flowable or Camunda.

Responsibilities

• Operate Flowable-based solutions for clients, ensuring availability and performance per SLAs.
• Analyze faults, resolve incidents, and perform post-incident reviews for continuous improvement.
• Own platform infrastructure design, implementation, and automation to provision, configure, and scale systems.
• Lead change management for production infrastructure and applications.
• Act with ownership mindset, drive initiatives from concept to completion.

Responsibilities:

Operations: You operate our Flowable-based solutions for clients in the financial industry, monitoring and safeguarding their availability and performance against contractually agreed SLAs.

Incident Management: You analyse fault situations, resolve them, and run post-incident reviews that turn each failure into a lasting improvement.

Platform Engineering & Automation: You own the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the platform infrastructure, and you build the automation that provisions, configures and scales it.

Change Management: You lead the change process for production infrastructure and applications: assessment, approval, coordination and implementation.

Ownership & Impact: You bring an owner's mindset, challenge the status quo, and drive initiatives from concept to completion, translating operational needs into robust, automated and scalable systems.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a proactive, open-minded team player with a passion for cloud-native technologies, automation and continuous improvement. You think analytically and have strong problem-solving skills.

At least 3 years of experience as a Software or DevOps Engineer

Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes, especially using GitOps

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or GitHub

Experience with Bash, Python or another scripting language

Strong debugging skills across distributed systems and infrastructure

Solid understanding of IAM (Identity and Access Management) concepts and their implementation

Good understanding of container and distributed-system security

Experience with contractually agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Fluent German (C1) and good English (B2) language skills

Nice to have:

Azure, Terraform and ArgoCD

Observability and platform tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Traefik, Artifactory

Java and Spring, and process automation tools (Flowable, Camunda, Activiti or similar)

PCI DSS or ISO 27001 compliance experience
