Job description

We are remote-friendly DevOps Engineer. The DevOps Engineer will work on our cloud service infrastructure to implement or refactor tools used in editorial and data engineering workflows. This role requires effective use of AWS resources, a focus on system stability and uptime, and the generation of metrics to ensure consistent and efficient tooling.

Key responsibilities include building and refactoring tools in Python, maintaining legacy Python and Perl tools, collaborating with data and systems teams to identify tooling needs, and improving cloud service use. You will build scalable, testable solutions, respond to outages, and work under the guidance of Architects.

Responsibilities

• Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs
• Designing and implementing development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
• Overseeing code releases, deployments, and deployment automation
• Supporting developers, implementing best practices, and ensuring smooth code deployment to testing and production servers
• Optimizing software development processes, focusing on efficiency and reliability, with expertise in operating system and database management systems installation
• Release engineering, building and deploying application code
• Infrastructure provisioning and management via IaC
• Maintaining current systems and fixing issues; root cause analysis and improvements
• System administration
• Enhancing security – secure design, testing and policy enforcement

Requirements

• Experience with key AWS services (e.g., EC2, VPCs, ALBs, RDS)
• Experience with DevOps processes and practices
• Experience with CI/CD and automated deployment tooling
• Experience with container architectures (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with monitoring tooling and patterns
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar workflow tooling
• Python programming skills
• Fluent English skills (minimum C1 level)
• Valid Polish residence and permission to work in Poland

Nice to have

• Experience with Infra as Code (e.g., CDK, Terraform)
• Experience with JavaScript, React, CSS
• Experience with automated test methodologies and frameworks
• Experience maintaining data transformation pipelines
• Experience working within agile teams (e.g., SCRUM)
