Key responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate regular Community of Practice (CoP) sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events
- Publish monthly newsletters to keep the community informed and engaged
- Manage Developer Experience (DevEx) surveys, analyze results, and drive actionable improvement plans
Standards & Best Practices
- Audit project compliance to internal technical standards and processes
- Develop best practices for managing external dependencies
- Contribute to updates of Coding Guidelines
- Build frontend and backend templates based on established patterns to streamline new project setups
- Oversee rule management for internally used tools in alignment with Coding Guidelines
- Drive improvements in secure coding maturity
- Explore, evaluate, and pilot new tools or automation to enhance developer efficiency
Metrics & Insights
- Serve as a subject matter expert on developer productivity tools (e.g., Linear-B, BlueOptima, CoPilot)
- Deliver regular reports and actionable insights to engineering leadership
- Manage relationships with vendors of developer analytics solutions
Coaching & Support
- Advise engineering teams on using internal frameworks and tools like Checkmarx (Application Security) and SonarQube (Code Quality)
- Coach teams on best practices for secure development and code quality
- Help define and maintain technical interview standards
- Participate in candidate assessments during technical interviews
- Support the onboarding of new developers
Upskilling & Growth
- Propose appropriate tool and coordinate skill assessments, identify skill gaps
- Organize training initiatives including tech talks, coding workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Recommend relevant online learning platforms
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and suggest practical adoption strategies
Requirements
- Extensive software engineering background with 7+ years of professional development experience, including time as a senior or lead engineer
- Proven track record of technical leadership, guiding teams in adopting standards, tooling, and architecture best practices
- Track record of building business-critical software from the ground up
- Strong facilitation and community-building skills—able to lead knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and cross-team initiatives
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Lean methodologies
- Familiarity with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices, including monitoring, testing, and release strategies
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure
- Comfortable working across frontend and backend technologies with experience in Microsoft technology stack
- Strong communication and coaching skills—able to mentor engineers and influence without formal authority
- Ability to synthesize technical trends into actionable plans, pilot tools, and recommend process improvements
- Demonstrates strong bias for action and results
- Experience working in global or multicultural teams, with strong collaboration and empathy skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline
- Experience in engineering enablement or developer productivity
- Background in technical program or project management
- Certification in Agile, ITIL, or other relevant frameworks
- Vendor management experience
