Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking a Mechanical Designer to develop enclosure solutions for switchboards from concept to implementation. You will design plastic and sheet metal parts, create 3D models, and prepare detailed technical documentation while selecting materials and production methods.

The role combines design from scratch, cross-technology tasks, and collaboration with multiple departments. Hybrid work in Tychy with occasional trips to Germany are expected, and Polish presence is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in mechanical design or related engineering roles.
• Experience in conceptual design and product development from idea to implementation.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
• Experience with plastics and sheet metal processing (bending, punching, hole making).
• Proficiency with Creo; Windchill is a plus.
• Fluent Polish; English B2 required; German B1 preferred.

Job description

Join the Sii Engineering team as a Mechanical Designer and take part in a project where you create solutions for the electrotechnical industry from the very first concept. We are looking for a person responsible for designing enclosures for switchboards that combine plastic components with metal elements.

This role is for someone who wants to design from scratch – from the idea, through concept development, to preparing the construction for implementation. A major advantage of the project is its cross-technology nature – it includes designing plastic parts as well as working with sheet metal elements, where processes such as bending, punching, and hole making are important.

The work is carried out in a hybrid model (Tychy) with the possibility of regular trips to Germany.

Your tasks

• Creating and developing technical solutions from the idea stage
• Designing enclosures for switchboards made of plastics and metal components
• Creating 3D models and technical documentation
• Selecting materials and production technologies
• Collaborating with production, quality, and engineering departments
• Participating in design reviews and optimizing solutions

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a position related to mechanical design or engineering
• Experience in conceptual design
• High level of independence at work
• Experience working with plastics
• Good knowledge of sheet metal processing, especially bending, punching, and hole making
• Familiarity with tools: Creo, Windchill is a plus
• Ability to create technical documentation
• English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level
• German language proficiency at a minimum B1 level
• Required presence in Poland and fluent Polish language skills
