Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC seeks a Principal Engineer to lead the WBS-2 Structural Modules delivery stream in Krakow. You will provide senior technical leadership for procurement, delivery, and turnover of large structural modules across APX projects, driving supplier readiness and execution strategies.

You will report to the Senior Manager, WBS-2 Structural Modules, and operate in a hybrid model with 2 days in the Krakow office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering; advanced degree or professional engineering credentials may be beneficial.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in engineering, procurement, project management, manufacturing, supplier development, or related field.
• Experience with AP1000, nuclear-grade fabrication, large structural modules, or similar complex equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to influence partners without direct authority and communicate technical risks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement planning to establish supplier readiness and predictable delivery performance.
• Provide technical leadership for supplier identification, evaluation, selection, and commercial negotiation support.
• Translate complex technical and contractual requirements into clear supplier execution expectations.
• Align multi-project execution strategies with APX groups and key stakeholders.
• Lead supplier reviews, evaluations, and readiness assessments to support robust award recommendations.
• Drive cost, schedule, quality, and delivery certainty through executive-level supplier management.
• Develop strategy and frameworks for supplier kick-off meetings and major execution reviews.
• Lead meetings to own and track risks, decisions, and recovery actions.
• Define supplier oversight strategy with escalation criteria and oversight points.
• Coordinate with Westinghouse resources to resolve complex supplier submittal, manufacturing, and interface issues.
• Oversee commitments post-award including change management and turnover readiness.

As the Principal Engineer, WBS-2 Structural Modules Delivery Stream, you will provide senior technical leadership. You will also provide execution leadership for the successful procurement, delivery, and turnover of structural module equipment across projects within the APX Large Structures portfolio.

You will establish and drive the technical strategy across the full lifecycle. This strategy will also include procurement, supplier delivery execution. The lifecycle includes pre-purchase order planning, purchase order placement, purchase order execution, final delivery, and customer turnover.

You will lead complex cross-functional issue resolution. Establishing supplier readiness and oversight strategies, influencing technical and commercial decision-making, and ensuring agreement of supplier execution with project cost, schedule, quality, and customer commitments

You will report to the Senior Manager, WBS-2 Structural Modules and will be located in Krakow, Poland. You will work in hybrid model with 2 days at office.

Responsibilities

Lead pre-purchase order and post-purchase order procurement planning activities to establish supplier readiness, execution certainty, and predictable delivery performance.

Provide technical leadership for supplier identification, evaluation, down-selection, and commercial negotiation support.

Translate complex technical, quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements into clear supplier execution expectations.

Establish and align multi-project execution strategies with APX Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Supplier Performance Engineering, Project Management, and customer-facing stakeholders.

Lead supplier proposal reviews, technical evaluations, compliance matrix reviews, and readiness assessments to support robust award recommendations.

Promote cost, schedule, quality, and delivery certainty through senior-level supplier management, technical leadership, and proactive issue resolution.

Develop strategy, agendas, and decision frameworks for supplier kick-off meetings and important execution reviews.

Lead recurring supplier and internal execution meetings, ensuring you own and track risks, decisions, commitments, and recovery actions.

Define supplier oversight strategy in partnership with Supplier Performance Engineering, including oversight plans, witness and hold points, readiness reviews, and escalation criteria

Lead resolution of complex supplier submittal, specification, manufacturing, quality, and interface issues by coordinating appropriate Westinghouse technical resources.

Oversee supplier commitments following purchase order or contract award, including technical change management, contract execution support, and recovery planning.

Provide senior-level schedule insight, delivery risk assessments, and customer-facing status inputs following project requirements

Ensure completion of all required supplier purchase order scope, including fabrication, testing, documentation, technical closeout, and applicable turnover requirements.

Coordinate with suppliers and Westinghouse Quality Assurance to ensure Quality Releases, Quality Assurance Data Packages, and related technical documentation support shipment and customer turnover commitments.

Partner with Westinghouse Logistics, Project Management, and customer-facing teams to support shipment planning, risk mitigation, and final delivery execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering; advanced degree or professional engineering credentials

Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in engineering, procurement, project management, manufacturing, supplier development, or a related technical field.

Experience with AP1000, nuclear-grade fabrication, large structural modules, pressure boundary components, or other complex engineered equipment would be benficial

Experience in supporting sound technical decisions in supplier, project, manufacturing, and customer environments.

Experience working with teams and influencing partners without direct reporting authority.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical, commercial, and delivery risks to project teams, management, and customer partners.

Experience defining problem statements, support execution strategies, guide assigned actions, and communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to management.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The gross base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be11,416 to 14,266 PLN gross per month. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance
