Job summary

Roche is seeking an IT Data Scientist in Warsaw to lead end-to-end data-driven solutions. You will identify opportunities, explore data, build and deploy predictive models, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will own projects from inception to deployment, applying programming, statistical modeling, and data visualization skills, while contributing to Roche's mission to prevent, stop and cure diseases and improve global healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Scope and deploy models from development to production in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Identify and solve moderately complex data problems with validated models.
  • Engage with multiple business units to understand data needs and communicate insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Drive medium-sized projects aligned with business objectives and strategy.
  • Handle large, complex datasets and improve model performance through iteration and experimentation.
  • Apply multiple programming languages and advanced data manipulation techniques; leverage statistical methods and ML algorithms.

The Position

The IT Data Scientist is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing data-driven solutions to complex business problems. This role involves independently identifying analytical opportunities, conducting in-depth data exploration and analysis, and building, testing, and deploying predictive models using various machine learning techniques. You will own projects from inception to deployment, leveraging strong programming, statistical modeling, and data visualization skills, while clearly communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities
  • Scope / (Content Leadership): Leads the development and deployment of models. Works independently on specific data science projects from start to finish
  • Accountability/Problem Solving: Identifies and solves intermediate to complex data problems. Validates models and ensures their accuracy with minimal supervision
  • Stakeholder Management: Engages with broader business units to clearly understand and meet their data needs. Presents analytical findings and insights to various stakeholders, including non-technical audiences
  • Impact/Strategy: Drives medium-sized projects that directly influence business decisions. Ensures that projects are closely aligned with broader business objectives and strategies
  • Complexity / (Product Size): Handles larger, more complex datasets. Develops new predictive models from scratch and optimizes existing ones to improve performance
  • Business / Technical ability: Applies proficiency in multiple programming languages and advanced data manipulation techniques. Leverages a strong knowledge of advanced statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to address business questions
Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in independently identifying analytical opportunities, conducting in-depth data exploration, and owning projects from inception to deployment
  • Proven track record of driving medium-sized projects that influence business decisions and align with strategic objectives
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in multiple programming languages and advanced data manipulation using preferably Snowflake
  • Strong, in-depth knowledge of advanced statistical methods and machine learning workflows, preferably within Dataiku
  • Strong data visualization, statistical modeling, and dashboarding skills, ideally supported by Streamlit
Additional Qualifications
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly to various stakeholders, including non-technical audiences
  • Strong collaborative capabilities to effectively engage with broader business units to understand and meet data needs
Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of Warsaw Grafit is 170’100.00 PLN - 315’900.00 PLN. Final compensation will be determined by a number of factors, including your skills, experience, qualifications, and location. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus with a target of 15% subject to both individual and company performance.
