Overview:


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Science Manager, with strong expertise in commercial analytics and to join our growing team. As Data Science Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists, engineers, and machine learning engineers in developing and implementing data-driven solutions to business problems. You will also be responsible for working with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data analytics initiatives.


Main Accountabilities



  • Responsible for leading and creating an impactful portfolio of data science and data engineering projects in the space of commercial analytics

  • Drive the design, development and documentation of reusable analytical solutions utilizing data science best practice

  • Lead a team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers to build and deliver analytical solutions in a sustainable manner

  • Be the point of contact for various stakeholders to understand business problems, propose solutions that are scalable and value-driven.

  • Advice Business on how to structure the problems/hypotheses they want to address and convert it into a advanced analytics approach including machine learning and optimization components.

  • Communicates the design, insights and value of the analytical solutions to a variety of audience, including key business leaders and technical communities

  • Ensure timely deliverables and testing for regular maintenance of solutions over time

  • Lead team with a culture of learning and coaching with a goal to elevate the technical acumen in evolving needs

  • PhD or MS in STEM field with a combination of years of experience as in Data Science or Computer Science, IT or a related field.

  • Strong foundations in math, analytics and computer science, knowledge of machine learning methods, statistical models, advanced data science programming.

  • 6-10 years of hands-on working experience and fluency in Python and SQL. Comfortable with scripting language such as bash.

  • Experience leading or managing technical teams to drive development of analytical products.

  • Experience writing reusable and maintainable code with version control and automation pipelines

  • Ability to transform a project from POC to production.

  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS or Azure), with preference to GCP services including but not limited to Compute Engine, Big Query, Cloud Run, and Cloud Composer.

  • Experience working with customer analytics and pricing optimization, and / or domain knowledge in global agri-business and food industry.

  • Creative and self-motivated. Demonstrate drive to learn new skills and influence others on the team to strive for collective progress.

  • Act as a leader in a global environment, take responsibility to consistently build better solutions both in technical quality and business impact.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Good understanding of software development best practice, and ability to apply that to machine learning projects, including unit tests, CI/CD integration.

  • Experience building and deploying resilient data and modeling pipelines in GCP environment

  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terradom

  • Experience implementing Kubernetes and Docker (or similar container engine) solutions

  • Obtained Google Cloud Professional certifications in area such as MLE, data engineer, DevOps engineer

  • Experience leading and working with global teams across geographical time zones.
