We're looking for a Data Governance Senior Specialist who supports the Data Governance lead in establishing a Data Governance Framework, overseeing and coordinating data governance activities within an organization. This role will ensure that our data is accurate, secure, consistent, and compliant with internal policies and regulations. You will work across departments to establish clear data ownership, operationalize Data Governance roles, and implement Data Governance KPIs and controls.

Tasks and Qualifications:

  • Supports defining the overall data governance strategy and objectives aligned with the overall data management strategy.
  • Supports developing and documenting data governance policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Helps establishing and maintaining a robust data governance framework, including the organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities, and accountability mechanisms, defining the governance processes, workflows, and decision-making frameworks to ensure effective data management.
  • Engages and collaborates with stakeholders from various business units, IT departments, and other relevant areas. The DG builds relationships, creates awareness, and fosters a culture of data governance by promoting the value and benefits of effective data management.
  • Assists in the successful implementation of the data governance framework at strategic, tactical, and operational levels in cooperation with data management actors and stakeholders.

Your Skills and Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Approx. 5 years of experience in data quality, data governance, data management, or data migration roles.
  • Business acumen, leadership, communication, and Project management skills.
  • Regulatory and compliance knowledge.
  • Highly organized and process-oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration and relationship building, ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive consensus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and change management practices.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); other languages are welcomed.
  • Previous involvement in data migration, system implementation, S4Hana upgrades, and/or business transformation projects - as an asset.
