Job summary

Randstad in Warsaw seeks a Data Engineering Manager / Senior Manager to lead a team of data engineers and architects across a complex data ecosystem. You will set engineering standards, mentor delivery teams, and drive continuous improvement in a mature Agile environment.

The role combines strategic technical guidance with hands-on expertise in SQL, Python, Spark, and cloud platforms, while collaborating with UK stakeholders to align roadmaps with business aims. Hybrid work in Warsaw is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams in Data Engineering or Data Platform domains.
• Hands-on background as Data Engineer or Data Architect with mastery of SQL, Python, Spark, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration experience.
• Polish language fluency required (written and spoken).
• English language at C1 level and hybrid work setup in Warsaw (Gdański Business Center).

As a Data Engineering Manager / Senior Manager, you will lead a high-performing team of data engineers and architects to build secure, scalable, and cutting-edge solutions across Client’s complex data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• People & Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and grow a team of Data Engineers and Architects across distributed project pods. Drive performance management, professional growth, and team retention.
• Strategic Technical Guidance: Provide conceptual and strategic direction for data platforms (SQL, Python, Spark, AWS/Azure, CI/CD), ensuring high-quality and resilient delivery.
• International Stakeholder Partnership: Build direct, trusted relationships with UK business stakeholders, aligning team development with technical roadmaps and business strategy.
• Engineering Culture: Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, modern data engineering best practices, and continuous learning. Actively participate in problem solving.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams in Data Engineering or Data Platform domains.
• Solid Technical Background: Hands-on experience as a former Data Engineer or Data Architect, with strong conceptual mastery of SQL, Python, Spark, Cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), and CI/CD / DevOps practices.
• Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional, multinational teams.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in Polish is required (both written and spoken).
• Language & Location: Fluent English (C1 level) and readiness to work in a hybrid setup in Warsaw (Gdański Business Center).
