Job summary

GFT Technologies SE in Poland is seeking an Expert Data Engineer to design and build modern data platforms across cloud and on‑premise environments. You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to create scalable data solutions and support data‑driven decisions within agile teams.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, strong SQL and Python, data modelling expertise, and hands‑on work with GCP tools like BigQuery. Hybrid work across Lodz or other polish offices offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL and Python proficiency.
• Experience with data modelling.
• Understanding of data warehousing, data lakes and lakehouse architectures.
• Hands-on experience with GCP data tools and BigQuery.
• Experience with DBT, Airflow and Trino.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy cloud and on-premise data models and transformations.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Onboard new data sources and build data ingestion frameworks.
• Design, build, test and deploy cloud data warehouses and data products.
• Optimize data views and schemas for reporting and visualization.
• Review, interpret and implement business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate on backlog refinement, user stories and epics in Jira.
• Ensure data platform performance, scalability and reliability.
