Job summary

Intellias is seeking an experienced Data Architect to join a strategic project for a leading investment management client headquartered in London. Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture or data platform roles.
• 3+ years of experience in metadata management, data governance or data cataloguing.
• Experience with platforms such as DataHub, OpenMetadata, Collibra or similar.
• Good understanding of Python and data engineering practices.
• Knowledge of OpenLineage, data contracts or similar standards.
• Strong understanding of data governance, ownership, stewardship and data classification.
• Experience with semantic layer design, knowledge graphs and entity resolution.
• Experience working in regulated or on-premises environments.
• Strong consulting and client-facing skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English (B2+/C1).

Responsibilities

• Design a federated metadata architecture across a large data estate.
• Design enterprise metadata and data catalogue solutions.
• Define metadata, lineage and data governance models.
• Build semantic layers, business glossaries and concept registries.
• Work with entity resolution and knowledge graph concepts.
• Define approaches to machine-derived metadata and LLM-assisted metadata enrichment.
• Act as the design authority for the engineering team.
• Work closely with client stakeholders and data owners.
• Shape delivery roadmaps, estimates and data-readiness requirements.

The project focuses on building the data foundations needed for safe and scalable AI adoption in a highly regulated financial environment. You’ll work at the intersection of data architecture, metadata, governance, semantic layers and AI, helping design how enterprise data can be discovered, understood, traced and safely used by AI agents.

• Designing enterprise metadata and data catalogue solutions
• Defining metadata, lineage and data governance models
• Building semantic layers, business glossaries and concept registries
• Working with entity resolution and knowledge graph concepts
• Defining approaches to machine-derived metadata and LLM-assisted metadata enrichment
• Acting as the design authority for the engineering team
