Job summary

summ-it is seeking an experienced Data Architect to design modern, scalable data platforms and provide presales support for client projects in Poland. You will work with cloud and on-premises environments, especially Microsoft Azure and Fabric, SQL Server, SSIS and SSAS.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data processing, integration or analytics
• Experience as Data Architect or similar senior role
• Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse & Lakehouse
• Hands-on with Fabric, Azure, SSIS, SSAS
• Cloud and On-Premises data solutions
• Design scalable, secure, high-performance data solutions
• English C1+; Polish not mandatory
• Experience in presales, proposals and architecture workshops

Responsibilities

• Design data architectures in Cloud and On-Premises environments (DW & Lakehouse)
• Select technologies meeting security, performance and scalability needs
• Create architecture standards, diagrams and documentation
• Run client workshops translating requirements into solutions
• Provide architectural oversight and guide technical teams
• Presales support: analyze RFPs/RFQs, prepare concepts and estimates
• Present architecture to clients and contribute to demos/POCs
• Build trusted advisor relationships with clients in Data area

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect who will combine expertise in data architecture design, technical consulting and Presales support.

We are looking for someone responsible for designing modern, scalable and secure data platforms and for selecting technologies that meet our clients’ business and technical requirements. This is an expert, technical role with no team management responsibilities.

If you can talk to business stakeholders and client executives as comfortably as to technical teams, design end-to-end data architectures and translate business needs into concrete technology solutions, this role is for you.

Join the summ-it team. You will take part in Data & Analytics projects and design solutions based both on modern data platforms in Cloud environments, in particular Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric, and on On-Premises environments using Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS and SSAS.

Main responsibilities:

• Designing data architectures in Cloud and On-Premises environments, including Data Warehouse and Lakehouse solutions and ETL/ELT processes.
• Selecting technologies in line with business, security, performance and scalability requirements.
• Creating architecture standards, documentation, diagrams and technology recommendations.
• Running workshops with clients and translating business requirements into concrete solutions.
• Providing architectural oversight of projects and supporting teams in technical decisions.
• Presales support: analyzing RFPs/RFQs, preparing solution concepts, technical scopes and estimates.
• Presenting architecture to clients and taking part in demos and Proofs of Concept.
• Building expert relationships with clients as a trusted technical advisor in the Data area.

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience in data processing, data integration or data analytics.
• Experience as a Data Architect, Solution Architect, Data Engineer or in a similar expert role.
• Very good knowledge of Data Warehouse and Lakehouse architectures.
• Very good knowledge of data integration and ETL/ELT processes.
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure, SSIS and SSAS.
• Experience in designing and maintaining data solutions in both Cloud and On-Premises environments.
• Ability to design scalable, high-performance, secure and maintainable solutions.
• Knowledge of Data Governance, data security and data quality management.
• Experience in creating architecture and technical documentation.
• Experience in analyzing business requirements and translating them into solution architecture.
• Experience in running technical and architecture workshops with clients.
• Experience in supporting Presales, preparing estimates or drafting the technical parts of proposals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, business stakeholders and technical teams.
• English at C1 level or higher.
• Availability in a 1/4 hybrid model, meaning at least 1 day per week in the office.
• Experience in AI/ML projects and in implementing AI-based solutions.
• Knowledge of Data Quality, MDM, metadata management and data lineage.
• Experience in On-Premises to Cloud migration projects.
• Knowledge of platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS or GCP.
• Experience at a consulting company or software house delivering projects for multiple clients.
• Microsoft certifications related to Azure, Fabric, Data & AI.
