Job description

As Full-Stack Data Scientist Production within our Factory of the Future (FotF) digital program, you play a key role in transforming our manufacturing processes through data-driven innovation and machine learning. Based in the Group Data & Analytics team, you work together with our cross-functional FotF team at the intersection of IT, OT and plant operations - collaborating with production teams across our business units to bring Industry 4.0 to life.

Together, we are building a future-proof, highly efficient and sustainable production environment. You work end-to-end, from raw process data and model to a working solution on the line, combining advanced analytics and machine learning with real-world factory impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a variety of domains, from energy efficiency and product quality to line capacity and planning.

Your journey starts on one of our production lines, where you will gain first-hand understanding of our production processes. You will then build the skills needed in bakery food technology, as well as in our data platform and ways of working. After an initial onboarding period of around three months, you will be ready to make an impact.

The function

  • Bridge strategy and operations: You translate boardroom ambitions into actionable insights and smart solutions on the shop floor, boosting plant productivity through data analytics and machine learning.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: You work in a dynamic, cross-functional FotF team (4-8 experts), alongside automation engineers, food technologists and operators on the shop floor, to unlock improvements in areas such as energy efficiency, product quality and line capacity.
  • Build real-time decision support: You design and implement AI-driven advisory systems, from data to final solution, that guide operational decisions - using visualisation tools such as Grafana and Power BI, or by directly interfacing with control systems.
  • Solve complex industry challenges: You dive deep into the complexities of the baking industry, one of the most demanding food production processes, and develop innovative, data-based solutions to enhance performance and sustainability.
  • Innovate with external partners: You collaborate with equipment suppliers, startups and academic institutions to co-create breakthrough solutions, such as advanced visual control systems.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders: You actively listen to and engage with plant managers, operators, analysts and IT specialists - understanding business needs, sharing knowledge and aligning on process improvements, implementation and solution architecture.
  • Contribute and coordinate: You support international digital projects within the FotF program, ensuring alignment on deliverables, milestones, risks and resource planning.
As Full-Stack Data Scientist Production you report directly to the AI Engineering and Data Science Lead.

Your profile

  • You hold at least a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as industrial automation, computer science, applied statistics, mathematics, engineering or machine learning, and your academic background combines engineering with data science.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience applying advanced analytics in a manufacturing context, and you have a passion for food production and Industry 4.0, including an understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies such as vision systems.
  • You have strong coding skills in Python and SQL, a solid foundation in software design principles and the ability to write clean and efficient code, combined with experience in cloud environments (preferably Azure) and familiarity with Databricks.
  • You are able to advise on and apply state-of-the‑art analytics, machine learning and optimisation techniques in a manufacturing context.
  • You are experienced in data engineering for manufacturing data and in preparing datasets for predictive modelling, including data cleaning, feature engineering and data enrichment.
  • You have experience deploying ML models into production and working with MLOps practices.
  • You are skilled in visualising insights for both operators (Grafana) and management (Power BI).
  • You are a creative production problem‑solver with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset, motivated by achieving tangible business impact on factory performance.
  • You are an effective communicator and collaborator, comfortable engaging with stakeholders from shop floor to senior leadership and translating complex analysis into actionable insights.
  • Working with AI tools is second nature to you and you actively use them to increase your own productivity and that of the team.
  • You are willing to travel, primarily within Europe, for short or longer‑term assignments.
  • You communicate fluently in English; Czech or Polish are also required depending on the location you apply for.

Our offer

  • You join an international family business with a strong long‑term vision, where more than 5.000 enthusiastic colleagues go for it together, driven by 5 strong values.
  • You become part of a growing Data & Analytics organisation that is building a modern data platform, with room for training, certification and close collaboration with strong business domains. You work on solutions with visible impact on our international production performance - from energy efficiency and product quality to line capacity, planning and sustainability. You get the opportunity to shape the digital transformation of one of the most complex and fascinating food production domains, together with equipment suppliers, startups and academic partners. We invest in a happy working environment through various sports and team events. You can literally taste our passion every day, through our fresh and innovative top products.
