Job summary

OEC is seeking an Analytics Engineer to build and maintain data infrastructure and business analytics capabilities, ensuring data accuracy to support operations.

You will collaborate with engineers to keep databases secure, design scalable pipelines, and develop dashboards for product and revenue insights using modern BI tools.

The position is fully remote, with quarterly in-person meetings to align on strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in high-volume data management.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, R and Python.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL architectures.
• Familiar with BI tools: Tableau, Looker, Power BI.
• Experience with cloud data platforms: AWS Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery.
• Familiar with Excel and data visualization.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently.
• Strong analytics and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data infrastructure for analytics at OEC.
• Build pipelines to extract data from primary and secondary sources.
• Create data visualizations for business and product needs.
• Define reporting with PMs and prepare reports to track goals.
• Analyze parts and application data for trends and errors.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify data issues and fix them.
• Maintain data architecture by staging, transforming and finalizing datasets.
• Document the central source of truth and support digital transformation.

Job Summary

The Analytics Engineer will help us build and maintain infrastructure for data and business analytics, financial data visualization, and exploratory data analysis. Responsible for managing data systems and ensuring information accuracy to support business operations and requirements. This position will work with OEC engineers to maintain all the database's safety and security to prevent unauthorized access and potential leaks of confidential data.

What You’ll Accomplish:

• Develop and maintain data infrastructure for analytics here at OEC.
• Build pipelines to extract data from primary and secondary sources.
• Build and support data visualization for Business and Product needs.
• Work with business and tech Product Managers to define reporting and prepare reports to assist with tracking and achieving their goals.
• Analyze parts and application data for trends, patterns, errors.
• Work with Engineers and Software Developers to identify potential data issues and help fix them.
• Build and maintain our data architecture by staging, transforming and finalizing datasets that meet our high standards of quality through out of box & custom testing as well as QA and arere used across the organization.
• Develop and document this central source of truth for OEC and assist in our internal digital transformation.

Who You Are

• You are well-versed in Mathematics and/or Statistics.
• You enjoy critical thinking, data-oriented, systematic approaches to solving problems.
• You have 4+ years of experience in high-volume data management.
• You are proficient with most of the following: SQL, R, Python, Database Design, Data Models, ETL Frameworks, Data Mining and Segmentation, Sigma/Tableau/Looker/Power BI, DBT, AWS Glue, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery
• You are familiar with Excel.
• Other Skills: Data Visualization, Revenue Analysis and Modeling.
• You are articulate. Your communication skills are top-notch, both in writing and verbal.
• Able to keep track of multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to work independently in an environment that expects great things every day.
• You pride yourself on being tech-savvy. You learn new processes and software tools quickly.
• You’re very detail-oriented and organized. You believe in neatness, and you take pride in a job that is well done!
