Job summary

State Street Corporation in Kraków seeks an experienced accounting professional to drive financial reporting quality across Business Units, ensuring GAAP compliance and robust internal controls. You will partner with global teams to improve processes, support regulatory exams, and contribute to strategic growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance required or preferred.
• CPA or equivalent professional designation is a plus but not required.
• 7–9 years accounting experience in financial services industry.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a track record of delivering against goals.
• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong customer service orientation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and review/analysis of Business Unit accounting financial results and legal entities.
• Provide audit support for internal, external and regulatory exams as required.
• Implement and ensure compliance with GAAP accounting rules affecting Business Unit accounting.
• Partner with Business Unit and GAO/Finance leadership to ensure accuracy of financial results and internal controls.
• Engage with global leadership on key business and change initiatives focusing on accounting activities and internal controls to mitigate risk.
• Support new product launches, projects to drive transparency in reporting and process improvements.
• Partner with Business Unit leadership on RRP and other regulatory initiatives.

This position will work with the Controller Team that supports various business areas including Global Services Alternative Investment Services and Investment Management Services. This position will proactively and effectively partner with Business & Finance leadership to identify areas for improvement and efficiencies and to implement best practices with regard to processes and internal controls impacting financial reporting while ensuring regulatory compliance and building excellent cross-functional relationships in North America and overseas locations.

What you will be responsible for

• Oversight and review/analysis of Business Unit accounting financial results and legal entities


• Provide audit support for internal, external and regulatory exams, as required


• Implement and ensure compliance with GAAP accounting rules that affect Business Unit accounting


• Partner with Business Unit, and Global Accounting Operations (GAO) and Finance leadership to ensure accuracy of financial results and that all internal controls are appropriately designed and executed


• Engage with global leadership in all key business and change initiatives focusing on Business Unit accounting related activities and internal controls to mitigate risk; as well as supporting new products and services initiatives.


• Partner with Business Unit Finance leadership on new product launches, projects to drive transparency in reporting and process improvements and strategic growth initiatives


• Partner with Business Unit leadership on Resolution & Recovery Planning (RRP) and other regulatory initiatives

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Business Administration or Finance CPA or equivalent professional designation a plus but not a requirement


• 7-9 years accounting experience in financial services industry


• Strong analytical and quantitative skills coupled with a strong track record of executing against goals


• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels


• Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work in a team environment


• Understanding of internal controls and ability to perform assessments and issue resolution


• Experience with legal entity financial reporting & accounting


• Familiar with Regulatory issues impacting the Financial Services Industry

Minimum Salary

Minimum Salary: zł182,004 Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ. Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees. In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
