Job summary

University of Gdańsk, Faculty of Chemistry invites applications for a part-time Research Assistant (20 hours per week) for 3 months (Nov 2026 – Jan 2027). The role is within the Laboratory of Environmental Chemoinformatics, focusing on environmental chemistry, chemical risk assessment, and in silico method development.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in chemistry or related fields, with a strong record in cheminformatics, modelling, and QSAR/QSPR.

Qualifications

• Mastery in cheminformatics and related areas is required.
• Experience with environmental chemistry and modelling of chemical properties is essential.
• Ability to develop QSAR/QSPR models and apply in silico methods.

Responsibilities

• Review scientific literature relevant to PARC project objectives.
• Identify and evaluate in silico tools for predicting properties and toxicity.
• Evaluate experimental datasets for predictive modelling suitability.
• Develop algorithms and scripts for predictive models and chemical properties.
• Contribute to development of NAMs for regulatory purposes.
• Present results at conferences and project meetings.
• Prepare scientific publications and reports.
• Participate in international project meetings and conferences.
