Eligibility criteria
- Hold at least a master’s degree, master’s degree in engineering, or equivalent
- Demonstrate aptitude for research work
- Are prepared to conduct teaching work
Desired qualifications / Responsibilities
- Scientific achievements including significant publications in biochemistry or molecular biology, including those concerning infectious diseases caused by fungal and bacterial pathogens
- Practical knowledge of biochemical and microbiological techniques, including cultivation of microorganisms
- Practical knowledge of eukaryotic cell culture methods
- Knowledge of immunology and cell biology techniques: viability, proliferation, chemotaxis, immunoenzymatic, and immunohistochemical tests
- Practical knowledge of molecular biology techniques, including analysis of gene expression
- Ability to use a fluorescence microscope and analyze imaging data
- Documented proficiency in spoken and written English
- Documented experience in teaching students in biology/biochemistry or biotechnology
- Documented experience in obtaining funding for scientific research will be an additional advantage
- Experience in implementing research projects
- Participation in national and international scientific conferences or symposia
Selection process
The first stage of the competition procedure is formal verification of submitted documents. Offers passing formal verification are subject to a substantive assessment, during which an interview may be conducted (in person or via electronic communication channels), after prior agreement with the candidate. During the interview, the soft skills indicated in the competition announcement will also be verified. If the Competition Committee's assessment is negative, the Candidate has the right to appeal within 7 days of receiving the information. The competition process is conducted in accordance with the Policy of Open, Transparent, and Merit-Based Recruitment at the Jagiellonian University.
