Job description

As a Multi-region Cloud Engineer Lead at FedEx Dataworks Poland, you will help us set up a global Azure infrastructure for the new FedEx data-driven e-commerce platform (www.fdx.com).

You will design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple regions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery. You will be responsible for automating deployments, optimizing network performance, and collaborating with teams to align solutions with business needs.

What You’ll Do:

• Create and configure data processing and web application infrastructure using Azure services, including storage, event hubs, AKS, Databricks, gateways, databases, and service accounts in production and non-production environments.
• Review infrastructure configurations and scripts created by development teams.
• Ensure proper connectivity between Azure components.
• Set up and configure CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage role assignments.
• Monitor deployed services effectively.
• Design and implement automation and orchestration solutions to accelerate development.
• Review proposed architectures for security compliance within the Dataworks environment.

What You’ll Know:

• Experience in deploying large-scale services across multiple regions.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Event Hubs, Storage Accounts, Functions, ADF, Databricks, AKS.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform (ARM knowledge is a plus).
• Experience with monitoring tools like Azure Log Analytics and alerting.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps pipelines (YAML).
• Knowledge of Azure Active Directory management.
• Understanding of Azure Networking Services.
• Hands-on experience with microservice deployment using manifests and Helm.
• Understanding of environment strategies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Programming skills, preferably in Java or Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of communication protocols.
• At least 7 years of experience in cloud engineering or related fields.
• Leadership experience in planning or consulting.
• Experience as a senior team member in multi-function projects.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in infrastructure building in China.
• Database administration experience and understanding of global data challenges such as replication and classification.
