Job summary

U.S. Bank in Warsaw is hiring a DevOps Engineer to join a greenfield transformation, building a cloud-native core banking platform powered by Thought Machine Vault in a highly regulated financial services environment.

The role requires hands-on AWS cloud engineering, IaC, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Kafka expertise, with strong automation and security focus. Role is hybrid with three days in the Warsaw office.

Qualifications

• Extensive DevOps engineering experience within banking or regulated environments.
• Strong AWS cloud engineering experience.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools.
• Kubernetes & Docker expertise.
• Production Kafka administration & event-driven architectures.
• Experience in Agile delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and support cloud infrastructure underpinning the core banking platform.
• Develop and maintain IaC solutions for resilient environments.
• Ensure platform availability, reliability, scalability and security across environments.
• Monitor services and identify issues before customer impact.
• Automate remediation and operational tooling to reduce manual work.
• Participate in incident management and RCAs.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for secure delivery.
• Drive automation across provisioning, configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve developer experience while upholding regulatory controls.
• Promote DevSecOps practices across the lifecycle.
• Support deployment and operation of Vault products and banking services.
