Job description

Think start-up energy, backed by enterprise scale. We are building a modern platform within a global organization—combining the agility, ownership, and engineering freedom of a start-up with the stability and funding of an industry leader. You’ll work in a highly collaborative, international environment where your contributions directly shape real products used at scale.

We are seeking a Junior QA Engineer to support quality assurance for a cloud-native application built on AWS and Databricks. This role is ideal for someone early in their QA career who is eager to learn modern testing practices across data pipelines, APIs, and web applications. You will work closely with developers, data engineers, and senior QA team members to validate functionality, data accuracy, performance, and reliability across the platform. This position offers hands-on exposure to cloud infrastructure, data engineering workflows, and scalable analytics platforms. This role can be performed in a hybrid model (3 days/week from the office).

What you will be responsible for
Functional & System Testing
  • Execute manual test cases for web applications, APIs, and data-driven features.
  • Validate end-to-end workflows across UI, services, and data layers.
  • Identify, document, and track defects clearly using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure new changes do not impact existing functionality.
Data Focused Testing
  • Validate data ingestion, transformation, and output within Databricks pipelines.
  • Perform basic data quality checks (completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness).
  • Use test automation/SQL to validate datasets, aggregates, and business rules.
  • Assist in testing batch and scheduled jobs running on Databricks and AWS services.
API & Integration Testing
  • Execute API tests using tools such as Postman or similar.
  • Validate API responses, error handling, and data contracts.
  • Assist with integration testing across AWS services and downstream consumers.
Cloud & Environment Support
  • Validate application behavior across AWS environments (dev, test, uat/staging).
  • Assist in smoke testing after deployments and environment refreshes.
  • Learn and follow cloud security and access best practices.
Quality & Process
  • Collaborate with developers and senior QA engineers during sprint planning and reviews.
  • Contribute to test documentation, test case repositories, and QA checklists.
  • Learn and assist with test automation and CI/CD quality gate.
What we value
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across functions and geographies.
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to collect, absorb, and analyze information quickly and independently.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English is a must)
  • High level of engagement
  • Willingness to enter into contract for employment.
Education & Other
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study required.
  • MS degree strongly preferred.
  • Min. 1-3 of experience in QA and/or Software Testing.
