Job summary

SQUAD in Wroclaw seeks a strategic Head of Software (Embedded) to unify and scale the embedded software teams. You will lead across multiple product lines, align leaders, and drive architectural standards while engaging in pre-sales and client discussions.

You will report to Senior Director of Embedded Engineering, shaping roadmaps, standards, and delivery across hardware-software interfaces and edge AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Head of Engineering, Director of Software, or Engineering Delivery Lead with embedded software/firmware management.
• Deep embedded systems background (drivers, middleware, connectivity, video/audio).
• Experience in pre-sales: proposals, client pitches, effort estimations.
• Strong understanding of Agile and CI/CD for embedded systems.
• Ability to align autonomous leads with a unified technical direction.
• Excellent English communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Take domain-wide software delivery accountability across multiple projects.
• Participate in pre-sales calls, technical discovery, and client proposals.
• Establish coding guidelines, testing frameworks, and CI/CD for embedded platforms.
• Align Software Development Managers and Tech Leads toward a shared vision.
• Oversee resource allocation and hiring to scale engineering capacity.
• Act as the domain authority to cross-functional leaders and clients.
