Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an AI Prompt Engineer to enhance autonomous process orchestration within assigned portfolios. You will design, develop, and optimize prompts as well as ensure the quality of outcomes generated by AI systems.

The role involves significant collaboration with Technology, Quality Control, and Operations teams to refine AI models and operational procedures. The position demands strong experience in prompt engineering and proficiency in tools like Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Automate.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and optimizes AI prompts and workflows that drive autonomous process orchestration across assigned portfolios.
• Ensures accuracy, consistency, and quality of AI-generated outcomes in support of internal operations.
• Partners with Technology, Quality Control, and Operational teams to continuously refine AI models, measure performance, and scale throughput.
• Oversees prompt governance, version control, and documentation to ensure compliance with card scheme rules and internal operating procedures within area of responsibility.
• Participates in the design and improvement of AI‑driven operational systems and procedures relevant to the Back Office Operations function.

Requirements

• Past experience in Complaints, Collections, Fraud, or Disputes.
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate or any other AI workflow and agentic environment.
• Demonstrated experience in Prompt Engineering — designing, testing, and optimising prompts for large language models in a professional or project context.
• Good verbal and written English language skills.

Location Expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
