Job description
Position Overview

Trellis is hiring a Business Intelligence (BI) Lead to lead our analytics efforts across real-time bidding and advertising campaign performance. You will own the full BI stack including dashboarding and reporting (Looker, LookML) and fluent in the modern data stack (DBT, BigQuery) - while managing a growing BI function. In this role, you’ll both build and oversee high-impact analytics, and partner with executives to ensure our teams have the insights needed to optimize ROI and scale intelligently.

This is a fully remote position, based in the US or Canada, reporting directly to the Head of Real Time Bidding, Thomas Boquet.

We believe in paying competitively for great work. The base salary range for this role is $195,000 – $205,000. Compensation is reviewed twice a year to ensure competitiveness and reward contributions.

Who You Are
  • Meticulous: You pay attention to detail and take pride in what you deliver
  • Articulate: You succinctly and effectively communicate verbal and written technical and non-technical ideas
  • Kind, not (just) nice: You provide tough feedback in a clear and concise manner that does not diminish or belittle the recipient
  • Opinionated: You bring strong opinions to discussions but are willing to change your mind when presented with new information
  • Product-minded: You focus on the “why” as much as the “what” or “how”
  • Collaborative: You work within your team and cross-functionally to build consensus and achieve results
  • Autonomous: You are self-motivated, able to hold yourself accountable, and can generate high-value work with little direct supervision
What You’ll Do
  • Lead the BI function, mentoring the team and establishing best practices in data modeling, transformation, and visualization.
  • Help on the development and maintenance of BI models using DBT and SQL, ensuring accuracy and scalability.
  • Build and oversee dashboards and reporting in Looker (LookML) or Tableau for campaign performance monitoring.
  • Partner with engineering and ML teams to define datasets and metrics optimized for analytics.
  • Provide strategic insights to leadership on advertising campaign effectiveness and RTB system performance.
  • Champion self-serve analytics by building intuitive and scalable BI tools for stakeholders.
What You’ll Need

While you don’t need all of these to be successful in this role, we think you’ll be more successful the more you have

  • 7+ years of experience in BI or analytics roles, with a preference for 2+ years in a management or lead position.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with BigQuery or other modern data warehouses.
  • Proficiency with BI tools: Looker (LookML), Tableau, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt for data modeling and transformation.
  • Background in digital advertising, performance marketing, or related domains strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with a track record of influencing business decisions through data.
