Zydus Hospital is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to design, develop and implement biological systems and medical devices, perform safety testing, and support clinical staff in maintenance of equipment.

The role involves installation, documentation, and preventive maintenance, collaboration with clinicians and engineers, and ensuring equipment safety and compliance across hospital departments.

Responsabilidades

Job Description

TheBiomedical Engineer will apply their knowledge of biology, engineering andbiomechanical standards to the design, development and implementation ofbiological systems and products, such as artificial organs, biomedicalequipment, prostheses, surgical procedures, new treatment techniques and healthmanagement and care delivery systems. They will also work with otherscientists, chemists and engineers on staff to research, design and evaluatenew biomedical equipment, products and software. The Biomedical Engineer willalso be responsible for performing operational and safety testing on allclinical equipment as well as assist other clinicians and staff on the properusage and maintenance of biomedical equipment.

Essential dutiesand responsibilities

• Perform avariety of routine and complex tasks associated with the installation andmaintenance of biomedical equipment.
• Provide thefirst hand support during the equipment breakdown or whenever needed byuser department
• Document theintroduction of new therapeutic and diagnostic equipment, corrective andpreventive maintenance actions and special requests as required.
• Serve as aresource to Zydus Hospital employees in the proper operation andmaintenance of medical equipment.
• Assistdepartment head in capital equipment planning; assist in identifying andrecommending replacement of equipment which is obsolete, has extensiverepair history, or has identified safety issues.
• Ensure that allincoming biomedical equipment is inspected as per biomedical departmentalpolicy.
• Notify userdepartments regarding status of repairs and works with departments toobtain loaner or replacement equipment as required.
• Report allpatient safety issues to department head and assist with correction ofissue as required.
• Improve or makespecial test setups to conduct functional checks of medical electronictest equipment
• Performelectrical safety tests on biomedical instrumentation using testequipment.
• Meetdepartmental performance indicator standards on a consistent basis.
• Answer phonesin a pleasant manner; screen and refer calls as appropriate; delivermessages and provide information to staff, visitors, and patients, uponrequest.
• Maintain aprofessional appearance and demeanor.
• Effectivelyprioritize tasks and maintain required levels of productivity.
• Demonstrateinitiative and concern for planning, time utilization, and costcontainment.
• Maintaineffective working relationships with fellow workers, nursing and medicalstaff, and the general public.
• Maintainaccurate and timely documentation. Maintain maintenance history recordsand prepare reports as required
• Maintain aclean and safe work place.
• Perform allduties related to this position as they are needed.
