Job summary

GOLDBECK SOLAR is seeking a senior technical sourcing professional to lead the evaluation and procurement of utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will bridge engineering and procurement, translating complex requirements into optimized commercial configurations for Europe and beyond.

You will evaluate bids from global suppliers, develop internal tools and models, and collaborate with engineering teams to cut costs while ensuring performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex technical data into usable tools.
• Fluent in English and German as required for international collaboration.
• Several years of professional experience in engineering or technical sourcing, preferably with large-scale battery storage or high‑voltage projects.
• Solid understanding of battery technologies, grid connections and single-line diagrams.
• Ability to translate technical project requirements into optimized procurement configurations.
• Proactive, problem‑solving mindset with capacity to build new frameworks from scratch.
• Excellent communication skills to work with global suppliers and commercial managers.

Responsibilities

• Review and technically evaluate large-scale battery storage solutions (BESS) from global suppliers.
• Manage the technical aspects of tender processes and compare offers to inform buying decisions.
• Analyze client technical requests and match them with optimal battery setups.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to optimize designs and reduce costs.
• Create and maintain internal tools and templates, such as battery degradation models.
• Align with battery manufacturers on technical details and communication protocols before contracts.
• Assist procurement in writing the technical parts of contracts focusing on performance and lifecycle.
• Identify technical risks in the supply chain and assess supplier performance.
