Job summary

emagine seeks a skilled Backup Engineer to support a critical change initiative focused on upgrading backup policies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup and Dell Data Domain, and can manage backup operations and migrations.

Based in Poland with a hybrid work model (office 2–3 days a week), the role involves transition from NDMP to DNAS policies, performance optimization, documentation, and knowledge transfer to the team.

Introduction & Summary

We are seeking a skilled Backup Engineer to support a critical change initiative involving the transition of backup policies. The ideal candidate will have substantial hands‑on experience with Veritas NetBackup and Dell Data Domain technologies. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently and is adept at managing backup operations and migrations.

Main Responsibilities

• Support the transition from NDMP to DNAS backup policies.
• Conduct configuration, troubleshooting, and capacity management for backup solutions.
• Optimize performance and provide documentation for backup processes.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
• Ensure timely execution of planned migrations and project milestones.

Key Requirements

• Hands‑on experience with Veritas NetBackup deployment, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of NDMP and DNAS backup policies, including design and configuration.
• Experience with Dell Data Domain administration and its integration with NetBackup.
• Ability to manage backup migration activities effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and knowledge transfer skills.
• Experience working independently in a senior technical role.

Nice to Have

• Experience with NAS migrations and various storage platforms.
• Background in large enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of backup governance and operational processes.
