Software Mind in Warsaw is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a large-scale data migration programme. You will design, implement and run ETL pipelines moving data from legacy SQL Server to Azure SQL, and ensure strict data validation across environments.

Collaborating with business analysts and client teams, you'll handle JSON/XML payloads, document data models, and follow ITIL-based change processes while contributing to Azure Data Factory, Databricks and dbt implementations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years delivering data migration or ETL on enterprise systems.
• Strong T-SQL and SQL Server (SSIS) experience.
• Practical Azure SQL DB, Data Factory and related services expertise.
• Data validation and reconciliation track record.
• Ability to work from incomplete docs using schema discovery and profiling.
• Experience with JSON/XML payloads in relational structures.
• English at C1 or above with international stakeholders.
• Willingness to undergo background screening.

Responsabilités

• Design, build and run ETL pipelines migrating data from legacy SQL Server databases into Azure SQL.
• Profile and reverse-engineer source schemas with incomplete documentation and document the model.
• Build validation and reconciliation logic to prove completeness and correctness.
• Work with Business Analysts on data mapping and transformation rules.
• Execute migration rehearsals and support the cutover.
• Follow ITIL-aligned change and release management for production changes.
• Diagnose and resolve production data incidents and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Maintain technical documentation for migration components and hand over at engagement end.
