Job summary

Aon plc in Kraków is seeking an Azure Databricks Data Engineer to design and deliver scalable data pipelines, Lakehouse solutions, and governed data platforms on Azure.

You will apply PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and Power BI enablement to build secure, reliable, high-performance data solutions, collaborating with BI analysts and data scientists.

The role supports a 50/50 hybrid and fully remote work model, with a focus on developing robust data architectures for enterprise analytics.

Qualifications

• Experience crafting scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure Databricks using PySpark and SQL.
• Knowledge of Lakehouse architectures (Delta Lake) and governance (Unity Catalog).
• Ability to design scalable data models for analytics and reporting (Power BI).
• Strong communication with stakeholders and the team, delivering under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops to discuss reporting requirements.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and Lakehouse architectures on Azure Databricks.
• Implement Unity Catalog governance and RBAC across environments.
• Collaborate with BI developers to define semantic models and data contracts.
• Optimize queries for Power BI interoperability (Direct Lake/Direct Query).
• Configure and monitor Databricks clusters, jobs, and CI/CD pipelines.
