Job summary

Welo Data is seeking experienced Adjudicators to review and resolve discrepancies in word-level transcription and timestamp annotations for an English (US) speech data project. This is a remote contract/freelance role with a rate of USD 7.00 per hour and an expected 15–20 hours per week.

Responsibilities include reviewing flagged annotations, listening to audio clips, applying the project style guide, and providing rationale for adjudication decisions.

Qualifications

• US cultural expertise in English
• Excellent listening comprehension
• Prior transcription/annotation QA or adjudication experience preferred
• Ability to apply detailed guidelines consistently and make sound judgments
• Attention to detail and comfort working with ambiguity

Responsibilities

• Review annotations flagged by first-pass annotators for disagreement or ambiguity
• Listen to audio clips and make final determinations on word-level segment boundaries and transcriptions
• Apply the project style guide consistently to resolve edge cases
• Provide clear rationale for adjudication decisions
• Identify patterns in annotator errors and feedback quality observations when needed
