Job summary

Syncron AB, a leading SaaS company, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Poland-based software engineering team in Warsaw. You will help improve our cloud-based backend, implement new features in Java and Kotlin, and contribute to architecture changes in a globally distributed, Agile environment.

The role requires 1–3 years in software development, fluent English, and a strong grounding in Java and Spring Boot.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in software development.
• Fluent English.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot fundamentals with backend development experience.
• Basic understanding of relational databases and data modelling concepts.
• Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Self-driven in a remote and geographically distributed team.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Improve existing codebase, including tests.
• Implementing new features in Java and Kotlin.
• Participate in significant restructuring and architectural changes.
• Code review.
• Performance engineering, including benchmarks and tools.

About the team

Our Software Engineering team in Poland is a key part of Syncron's global product organization, building and evolving cloud-based SaaS solutions used by leading manufacturers worldwide.

What would you do?

• Improving existing codebase, including tests.
• Implementing new features in Java and Kotlin.
• Taking part in significant restructuring and architectural changes.
• Code review.
• Performance engineering, including benchmarks and tools.
• Communicating and documenting technical designs and architectural decisions.
• Implementing and maintaining support for new and evolving technologies.

Who you are? / What we expect:

• 1 - 3 years of experience in software development.
• Fluent English.
• Good understanding of Java and Spring Boot fundamentals, with hands-on experience in developing backend applications.
• Basic understanding of relational databases and data modelling concepts.
• Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code following established coding practices.
• Being self-driven in a remote and geographically distributed team.
• Keen interest in understanding complex domain
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

The icing on the cake:

• Exposure to or experience with JVM-based languages other than Java.
• Basic understanding or interest in functional programming concepts.
