Job summary

Stryker Group in Warsaw, Poland, is offering a fixed-term maternity cover role in our finance team. You will lead general accounting, manage statutory reporting, and drive close processes across European entities, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, 5+ years in accounting, 1+ year of leadership, fluent English, and knowledge of internal controls including SOX. SAP/Hyperion experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of statutory accounting, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, or audit.
• 1+ year of experience managing accounting professionals.
• Fluent English proficiency.
• Knowledge of internal controls and SOX.
• Professional accounting certification such as ACCA/CIMA/CPA (preferred).
• Knowledge of SAP and/or Hyperion.
• Experience in multinational/shared services environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead general accounting activities, including preparing, maintaining, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Own accounting and financial reporting activities for assigned legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while meeting reporting deadlines.
• Review financial data, identify issues affecting accuracy and compliance, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee statutory and corporate reporting to align with standards and policies.
• Manage and develop a team of seven accounting professionals through coaching and workload coordination.
• Maintain the risk and control framework for assigned processes and ensure audit readiness.
• Drive process improvement, standardization, and compliance initiatives to enhance efficiency and control.

What You Will Do

• Drive process improvement, standardization, audit remediation, and compliance initiatives to enhance efficiency and control effectiveness.

What You Will Need

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in statutory accounting, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, or audit.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or coordinating accounting professionals.
• Fluent English proficiency.
• Knowledge of internal controls and compliance frameworks, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Preferred

• Professional accounting certification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience using SAP and/or Hyperion.
• Experience within a multinational company, shared services environment, or public accounting firm.

Poland Pay Ranges:

• Poland: zł191.100 - zł318.500 PLN Annual
