Job summary

Maersk GSC Poland in Warsaw is seeking an Associate Finance Controller with Polish and English to join our Accounting to Reporting team. You will handle end-to-end accounting for entities within scope and support timely financial reporting in a multinational setting.

Strong English communication is essential as you collaborate with colleagues across Europe, auditors, and stakeholders. The role offers onsite work five days a week with competitiveness in salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Three years’ accounting experience in a multinational environment.
• End-to-end accounting and month-end close experience.
• Knowledge of Polish accounting requirements and IFRS.
• Degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent, or pursuing one.
• ERP experience with SAP/S4HANA valued.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Proficient English and Polish, written and spoken.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounting activities for assigned entities.
• Deliver accurate month-end close and reporting.
• Review balance sheets and substantiation of accounts.
• Investigate discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
• Support financial statement analyses and reporting of results.
• Ensure IFRS and Polish accounting compliance and controls.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax reporting.
• Consolidate accounting and tax information with process owners.
• Support regional finance projects and requirements.

The opportunity

As an Associate Finance Controller, you will join our Accounting to Reporting team and take responsibility for end-to-end accounting activities for the entities within your scope.

You will play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls and supporting month-end close activities.

Working in a multinational environment, you will collaborate with process owners, finance colleagues, auditors and stakeholders across different countries. Strong English communication skills are therefore important for success in this role.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing end-to-end accounting activities for assigned entities.
• Delivering accurate and timely month-end financial close requirements.
• Reviewing balance sheets and ensuring relevant accounts are properly substantiated.
• Investigating discrepancies and coordinating appropriate corrective actions.
• Supporting financial statement analysis and reporting on operational results.
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS, Polish accounting requirements, statutory obligations and relevant financial controls.
• Supporting tax, audit and statutory reporting requirements within agreed deadlines.
• Coordinating with internal and external auditors.
• Working with process owners to consolidate accounting and tax information.
• Supporting the RICC control framework and completing controls attestation.
• Responding promptly to finance-related enquiries and meeting agreed service levels.
• Identifying process or performance gaps and working with stakeholders to deliver improvements.
• Supporting regional finance projects and other business requirements when required.

Who we are looking for

We would like to hear from you if you have:

• At least three years’ experience in accounting, preferably within a multinational organisation.
• End-to-end accounting and month-end close experience.
• Knowledge of Polish accounting requirements and IFRS.
• A degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• A recognised professional qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent, or an interest in working towards one.
• Experience using an ERP system, with SAP or S/4HANA experience particularly valuable.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Fluent Polish and English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurately against demanding deadlines.
• A proactive, resourceful and collaborative approach.
