The newly hired person will conduct research at the Department of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology, in the area of the synthesis, analysis of properties, and application of functional organic compounds, in particular molecular receptors.

This interdisciplinary research topic has been the area of intensive research in the Department for several years, resulting in numerous scientific publications in prestigious journals.

Qualifications

  • Completion of higher education studies and obtaining a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • Holding a doctoral degree (PhD).
  • Very good command of English (or another foreign language).
  • Scientific profile related to molecular receptors and related chemistry.
  • Publications in journals listed in the JCR within the last 4 years.
  • Experience in designing and conducting organic syntheses and purification.
  • Experience teaching academic courses.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scientific research in organic chemistry focusing on synthesis and analysis of molecular receptors.
  • Publish results in high‑quality journals and present at conferences.
  • Teach a broad range of basic and advanced chemistry courses and lead lab sessions.
  • Engage in organizational and promotional activities for the Department and Faculty.

Offer Description

The newly hired person will conduct research at the Department of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology, in the area of the synthesis, analysis of properties, and application of functional organic compounds, in particular molecular receptors. This interdisciplinary research topic has been the area of intensive research in the Department for several years, resulting in numerous scientific publications in prestigious journals. The research activities of the employed person are intended to maintain and further develop the Department’s activity in this area. The employed person will actively participate in the Department’s teaching activities by conducting classes within a broad range of basic teaching courses. At the same time, the person will also be involved in organizational matters as well as promotional activities for the Department and the Faculty.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Completion of higher education studies and obtaining a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • Holding a doctoral degree (PhD).
  • Very good command of English (or another foreign language).
  • A scientific profile related to the scientific specialization of the Department/Division, associated with the development of molecular receptors.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques: NMR, IR, MS, UV-vis, DLS, spectrofluorimetry, and chromatographic techniques.
  • Knowledge in the fields of organic synthesis, supramolecular chemistry, synthesis of luminescent compounds, chemistry of dendritic compounds, and the synthesis and investigation of molecular receptors, documented by scientific publications (at least 10 publications in journals listed in the JCR within the last 4 years).
  • Skills in designing and conducting organic syntheses, including purification of organic compounds using chromatographic methods, performing spectroscopic analyses (NMR, UV-vis, spectrofluorimetry), and conducting research on molecular receptors.
  • Experience in teaching academic courses.
