Job summary

The Laboratory of Genetics at the University of Gdansk seeks an assistant with specialization in biology to join its evolution and biosystematics research team. The Laboratory of Genetics of the Department of Evolutionary Genetics and Biosystematics of the Faculty of Biology at the University of Gdansk is seeking outstanding applicants for the position of an assistant with specialization in biology.

• MSc degree in biologyawarded within 5 years prior to the date of the position announcement;
• documented scientific activity in the field of animal phylogenetics;
• documented knowledge of phylogenetic and statistical methods used in analysis of molecular data;
• documented proficiency in bioinformatics tools for the analysis of data generated using next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies.
• scientific achievements supported by at least one publication in the journal from the Journal Citation Reports list as well as national and international conference activities;
• experience in fieldwork
• documented participation in the research projects and experience in preparing research project applications; experience in leading a research project for young researchers will be preferred;
• documented teaching experience in evolutionary genetics and phylogenetic analyses at the higher education level;
• experience in activities popularizing science;
• fluency in Polish and English languages, that enables preparing and conducting labs for students.
