Job description

Applications are invited for two PhD positions in the ERC Starting Grant BLINDBRAIN, led by Dr. Łukasz Bola, at the Institute of Psychology, Jagiellonian University.

The project aims to understand why the visual cortex responds to linguistic stimuli in blind individuals, using fMRI, TMS, and advanced analytical approaches.

Responsibilities and Requirements

Successful candidates will have a Master's degree in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, neuroinformatics, or a related field, as well as experience in conducting psychological or neuroimaging experiments.

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, obtained before signing the contract.
  • Experience in designing and conducting fMRI or TMS experiments.
  • Experience in fMRI data analysis.
  • Good analytical and statistical skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work independently and learn new skills.
  • Basic knowledge of neuroimaging and the human brain's functional organization.
  • Programming skills (preferably in Matlab) and the ability to program own studies (preferably in PsychoPy).
