Job summary

Synopsys, Inc. is seeking an experienced DFT engineer to lead test solution design and validation across RTL coding, ATPG, and MBIST architectures.

You will collaborate with customers to understand needs, drive DFT implementation, and advance agentic AI-enabled test workflows, contributing to next-generation test technologies.

Qualifications

• BSc with 7+ years or MSc with 5+ years of relevant experience in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with RTL coding, DFT insertion, scan synthesis, ATPG, MBIST architecture planning.
• Excellent knowledge in pattern generation and silicon bring-up processes.
• Strong understanding of 1149.x, 1500 and 1687 protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Practical fluency with LLM-based coding assistants and agentic tools in an engineering workflow.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise for test solutions during design planning, budgeting, and implementation.
• Design rules checking for test methodology during RTL coding stages.
• Implement and validate DFT techniques such as scan compression, core wrapping, and BIST.
• Generate and validate ATPG patterns, including advanced fault models.
• Participate in customer design and flow reviews for seamless integration.
• Analyze and debug diagnostics to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Support tape-out readiness by delivering high-quality test logic and patterns.
• Deploy and tune agentic AI flows for DFT at customer sites and feed findings back to product roadmap.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Providing expertise for test solutions during design planning, budgeting, and implementation.
• Conducting test methodology design rules checking during RTL coding stages.
• Implementing and validating DFT techniques such as scan compression, core wrapping, and logic & memory Built-In Self-Test (BIST).
• Generating and validating Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG) patterns, including advanced fault models.
• Participating in customer design and flow reviews to ensure seamless integration.
• Analyzing and debugging diagnostics to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Supporting tape-out readiness by delivering high-quality test logic and test patterns.
• Deploying and tuning agentic AI flows for DFT - scan insertion, ATPG setup, DRC triage, and diagnostics - at customer sites, and feeding real-world findings back into the product roadmap.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:

You will join the Test Applications Engineering team under the Technical Sales Group at Synopsys. This team is at the forefront of delivering comprehensive DFT solutions, working closely with customers to integrate, validate, and bring up silicon designs. Collaborating with Solution Architects, you will help develop and productize next-gen test technologies, driving innovation and excellence in the field.
