Job summary

Fujitsu is seeking an experienced Application Architect to support a high-impact project for an EU Institution client. Location: Warsaw. Hybrid work model. The role focuses on architecture design and integration across data and API levels.

The candidate will lead teams, set standards, and ensure secure, scalable solutions. Mandatory expertise includes Archimate modeling and European interoperability frameworks, with a strong emphasis on enterprise integration patterns.

Qualifications

• Expert in architecting enterprise data and API level integrations.
• Experience with Tibco and Mulesoft platforms.
• Proficient in UML modelling and using Sparx Enterprise Architect or Aris Architect.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise-wide database architectures, schemas and BI services.
• Set standards for design, development, quality, and testing.
• Translate requirements into formal architectures.
• Lead development teams and processes.
• Optimize performance, security and quality of systems.
• Support integration, testing, QA and change management.
• Estimate and size network infrastructure and contribute to the Enterprise Architecture repository.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS

The selected candidate will perform the following typical tasks and responsibilities:

• Architectural Design: Designing and communicating enterprise-wide database architectures, schemas, analytic platforms, and BI services.
• Standards Setting: Setting standards in the scope of design, development, quality, and testing.
• Requirements Translation: Eliciting needs, analyzing requirements, and transferring business, user, and technical needs into formal architectures.
• System Lifecycle Management: Identifying options for potential solutions, maintaining and tracking architecture throughout the systems lifecycle.
• Project Mapping: Mapping business goals, project benefits, priorities, and system features.
• Leadership: Leading development teams and development processes.
• Optimization: Optimizing systems from the point of view of performance, security, and quality, and collecting/interpreting system metrics.
• Integration Support: Contributing to systems design, testing, quality assurance, and change management.
• Infrastructure & Repository: Estimating and sizing network infrastructure and contributing to the Enterprise Architecture repository.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Integration Expertise: Expert in architecting systems integration on data and API levels, as well as designing integration platform connectors, flows, and service bus solutions.
• Technical Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of integration platforms (e.g., Tibco, Mulesoft), SOA, databases, and cloud integration patterns.
• Modelling Proficiency: Sound knowledge of designing systems in UML and proficiency in using modelling tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect or Aris Architect.
• Framework Familiarity: Familiar with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or the Azure Well-Architected framework.
• Modern Infrastructure: Familiarity with serverless and containerisation platforms in cloud and on-premises environments, and the DevSecOps approach.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and effective documentation skills.

MANDATORY EXPERTISE

• Experience with modelling in Archimate
• Experience with European Interoperability Framework or other interinstitutional frameworks
• Experience with applying architecture styles and patterns
