Job description

This is a Contractual role based in Poland (Gdańsk). The engineer will work on Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to provide and maintain the automation platform, support internal stakeholders, and develop new automated solutions across the organization. We are seeking an experienced Automation / Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Ansible. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing complex playbooks and roles that automate infrastructure, application, and security processes across multiple environments. This is a platform-focused role requiring strong system design, automation expertise, and the ability to deliver reliable, reusable automation solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Automation Platform & Playbook Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex Ansible roles and playbooks to automate tasks across multiple environments, systems, and applications
  • Build robust, scalable, and dynamic automation solutions using advanced Ansible features while following coding standards and best practices
  • Configure and manage resources within Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including inventories, credentials, projects, job templates, and execution environments
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing automation workflows
  • Develop custom Ansible modules and plugins using Python where required
• Event-Driven & Infrastructure Automation:
  • Implement event-driven automation and self-healing solutions based on system events or error conditions
  • Automate infrastructure components such as:
  • Servers
  • Databases
  • Storage
  • Network devices
  • Deliver automation for:
  • Application deployments
  • Security and compliance activities (patching, configuration hardening, certificate renewals)
• CI/CD Integration & Collaboration:
  • Integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • Work within Agile/Scrum teams, using tools such as Jira for task tracking
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for developed automation processes and workflows
  • Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver end-to-end automation solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT Automation, with strong hands‑on experience using Ansible
• Excellent expertise in:
  • Ansible playbook and role development
  • Variables, templates, loops, filters, and plugins
  • Structuring and maintaining complex automation projects
  • Experience configuring and managing Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
  • Strong Python development skills for custom Ansible modules
  • Experience implementing event‑driven automation and self‑healing mechanisms
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure automation and configuration management
  • Experience automating:
    • Application deployments
    • Security and compliance processes
• Proficiency with Git and version control systems
• Experience integrating Ansible with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Bamboo
