Job summary

IDEMIA is seeking an experienced Android software engineer to transform requirements into robust software solutions in a hybrid Lodz, Poland office. The role emphasizes Kotlin/Java expertise, secure coding, and hands-on NFC payments work within a multi-disciplinary team.

Candidates should have 5+ years in Android development, proficiency with Gradle/Jenkins, and familiarity with GenAI-assisted development. Hybrid work entails regular in-office collaboration a few days per week in Łódź, Poland.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Android app development (preferably with SDK, not UI/UX).
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java; Kotlin Multiplatform is a plus.
• Solid testing experience with Groovy/Spock/JUnit; familiarity with internal JC2 framework.
• Experience with Gradle and Jenkins for build/release pipelines.
• Strong mobile security knowledge: Android Keystore, certificate pinning, secure backend communication; Play Integrity.
• Hands-on experience with NFC payments (HCE implementation).
• Knowledge of GenAI-assisted development and tools like GitHub Copilot CLI for creating/using Skills, Specs.

Responsibilities

• Transform requirements into software according to design to maximize business value.

• Apply secure coding practices, code reviews, source control, builds, testing and operations.
• Contribute to requirement analysis and estimations (functional and non-functional).
• Support testing, deployment, maintenance and evolution by fixing issues and implementing enhancements.
• Build software architecture including patterns and layers; document solutions with comments and diagrams.
• Participate in design and code reviews and optimize software performance.
• Contribute to and promote the organization's technical governance.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and coach a small team of SDEs.

Purpose

This role transforms requirements into software according to design, to maximize business value and customer satisfaction.

Key Missions

• Uses programming, scripting and database languages to write software code that meets requirements and that optimizes software performances


• Identifies existing software components, libraries and frameworks to reuse in the solutions


• Applies knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, secure coding, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations


• Contributes to requirement (functional and non-functional) analysis and estimations


• Supports software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements


• Builds up software structure including functions, design patterns, layers, etc.


• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing code comments, layouts, diagrams and charts


• Contributes to Software architecture (specification analysis, technical studies, technology assessment, etc.)


• Codes large and complex modules within agreed quality, deadline and cost


• Performs design and code reviews and assess software performance optimization


• Contributes and promotes the organization's technical governance


• Performs complex troubleshooting


• Coaches and can manage a small team of Software Development Engineers

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Android app development (preferably with SDK not with UI/UX)


• Kotlin, Java, Kotlin Multi Platform


• Testing: Groovy, Spock, JUnit, JC2 - internal testing framework


• Build/Release: Gradle, Jenkins


• Mobile Security: Android Keystore, certificate pinning, pairing, Google Play Integrity, secure communication with backend, mobile SDK protection mechanisms


• NFC payments (HCE implementation)


• Knowledge of GenAI supported development with tools like GitHub Copilot CLI to create and utilize Skills, Specs and MCP Servers.

The role is based in Lodz, Poland. We are working in hybrid model with at least three visits at the office per week. If you prefer to work fully on site, our office is always open for you :)
