Job summary

Hager Group invites an Analytics & Data Engineer to join its IT & AI team. The role focuses on building cloud-based data solutions, governance, and data products to support analytics, reporting, and AI-driven decisions. Two-year fixed-term contract available in Blieskastel, Obernai, or Bierun.

You will design scalable data pipelines, models, and dashboards, collaborating with global teams, and advancing DevOps and data security practices.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Informatics.
• Several years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI, or data warehousing.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, and enterprise data pipeline skills; Python/PySpark experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and lakehouse solutions for batch, real-time, and incremental processing.
• Develop governed data models and reusable data products for reporting, self-service analytics, and AI use cases.
• Manage BI tools and develop performant dashboards and reports.
• Ensure data quality, security, governance, metadata, lineage, and documentation across the platform.
• Monitor and optimize reliability, performance, scalability and cost; advance automation, testing, and DevOps practices.

Join our IT & AI team and help shape the next generation of our Hager data platform. As an Analytics & Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating modern cloud-based data solutions that provide reliable, high-quality, and governed data products for the business.

We are looking for a Analytics & Data Engineer (m/f/d) on a two-year fixed-term contract based in Blieskastel, Obernai or Bierun. In this role, you will support our agile BI Factory in enabling internal customers to use company data through consistent data models and modern analytics solutions, helping to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Your Mission

• Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines, integrations, and modern cloud-based lakehouse solutions for batch, incremental, and real-time processing.
• Develop governed data models and reusable data products for reporting, self-service analytics, and AI use cases.
• Manage and improve BI tools, and develop performant dashboards and reports.
• Ensure data quality, security, governance, metadata, lineage, and documentation across the platform.
• Monitor and optimize platform reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency while advancing automation, testing, DevOps, and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with global business and technology teams and evaluate emerging data, analytics, and AI technologies.

Your Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data warehousing.
• Strong SQL, data-modeling, and enterprise data-pipeline skills, with practical experience in Python and/or PySpark.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, or Snowflake, including lakehouse and data-product concepts.
• Experience developing dashboards and analytical solutions with Microsoft Power BI and/or SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Familiarity with orchestration, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, data quality, and security frameworks.
• Understanding of SAP and enterprise business processes.
• Independent, proactive, and solution-oriented working style, with enthusiasm for emerging technologies and complex challenges.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly in German and English.
