As a Software Engineer on our AI-First Pulse Core team, you will contribute to a self-service developer platform and core services, collaborating with AI to accelerate delivery and build robust

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering in full stack or backend roles.
• Experience using generative AI tools as part of development workflow.
• Strong backend background with Java, Kotlin or Go principles applied to Node.js.
• Hands-on full stack with Node.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript desirable.
• DevOps mindset: production deployments, monitoring, on-call readiness.
• Willingness to learn and apply new technologies with AI collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop full stack features (backend-heavy) with clean, tested code.
• Build with AI as a partner to design, test, and deploy features.
• Embrace agentic engineering to translate ideas into prototypes and production code.
• Collaborate in ceremonies and continuously learn alongside AI initiatives.
• Own features end-to-end, including monitoring and on-call rotations.

Role Overview

Join us at the forefront of a new era in software development. As a Software Engineer on our \"AI-First\" Pulse Core team, you will be a core contributor to a team that accelerates the velocity of all City’s Experience product teams by building and maintaining a robust, self-service developer platform and shared core services. We are looking for engineers who are excited to go beyond traditional coding and partner with advanced AI to build software faster and more innovatively.
You will work on a high-impact platform from scratch, contributing to a culture of agentic engineering where you translate high-level ideas into functional, high-quality code with the help of powerful AI tools. This is a unique opportunity to build your skills at the cutting edge of the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Full stack Features (Backend-Heavy): Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Primary backend development is centered on Node.js, leveraging your strong backend background from languages like Java, Kotlin or Go.

• Build with AI as Your Partner: Leverage advanced generative AI tools as a primary part of your daily workflow to design, build, test, and deploy features across the full stack.

• Embrace agentic engineering: Work with your team to translate high-level concepts into working prototypes and production code, using AI to accelerate the journey from idea to impact.

• Collaborate and Learn: Actively participate in team ceremonies and contribute to a culture of continuous learning, where we constantly explore new ways to effectively partner with AI.

• Own Your Work & Infrastructure: Take full ownership of the features you build, from initial concept through to production deployment, setting up monitoring/alerting, and actively participating in team on-call rotations.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Experience: 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience in a full stack or backend-centric role.

• AI-First Coder: You are highly proficient in using generative AI tools like Claude, Cursor, or Codex as a core part of your development workflow. You are comfortable generating entire code blocks, writing complex tests, and refactoring with AI assistance.

• Strong Backend Background: Deep experience in traditional backend languages like Java, Kotlin, or Go. You understand concurrency, distributed systems, API design, and performance tuning, and can easily apply these principles to Node.js backend development.

• Full Stack Breadth with Node.js Target: Hands‑on experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript (frontend and backend) is a plus, but strong backend generalists eager to apply their Java/Kotlin/Go skills to Node.js across the full stack are encouraged to apply.

• DevOps & SRE Mindset: Practical experience in production deployment, monitoring, alerting, and incident resolution. You should have a foundational understanding of containerized environments and infrastructure. Willingness to participate in on‑call rotations is important.

• Adaptable and Forward‑Thinking: You are excited by new technologies and are eager to be part of a team that is defining the future of software engineering.

We are open to candidates based anywhere in Poland who are available to travel to the office in Łódź as needed to meet business requirements.
