Job summary

Engenious seeks an AI Platform Governance & FinOps Specialist to establish, operate, and continuously improve governance, financial management, and security controls across the enterprise AI Platform. This external contractor role bridges platform operations, governance, risk management, and vendor relationships.

You will monitor Azure and AWS consumption, support cost allocation, and contribute to risk assessments with cybersecurity and legal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance, risk, compliance, FinOps, or cloud platform management.
• Understanding of AI governance principles and enterprise technology governance frameworks.
• Experience managing cloud consumption, cost reporting, or FinOps activities.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate governance requirements into practical operational processes.

We are seeking an AI Platform Governance & FinOps Specialist to join our team as an external contractor. The primary mission of this role is to establish, operate, and continuously improve governance, financial management, compliance, and operational controls across the enterprise AI Platform.

This role focuses on ensuring AI services are consumed responsibly, cost-effectively, and in alignment with enterprise governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

The position bridges platform operations, governance, finance, risk management, vendor management, and AI adoption.

Responsibilities

AI Governance & Policy Management

• Define, document, and maintain AI Platform governance standards and operational policies.
• Support implementation of governance controls across AI Platform services.
• Coordinate governance reviews for new model providers, capabilities, and platform services.
• Ensure governance requirements are embedded into platform operating processes.
• Manage onboarding processes for new model providers and AI services.
• Evaluate model risks, licensing considerations, and governance implications.
• Maintain inventories of approved models, providers, and platform capabilities.
• Support model lifecycle management and retirement processes.

FinOps & Cost Management

• Monitor platform consumption, utilization, and cost trends across Azure and AWS environments.
• Develop cost allocation and chargeback/showback capabilities.
• Support budget planning and consumption forecasting.
• Identify optimization opportunities and cost-control measures.

Risk, Compliance & Audit Readiness

• Support AI risk management and compliance initiatives.
• Coordinate internal audits, control reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Maintain governance documentation, policies, standards, and evidence repositories.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Legal teams on governance requirements.
• Coordinate vendor relationships and contract-related activities.
• Support evaluation of new platform vendors and services.
• Prepare governance and operational reporting for leadership stakeholders.
• Facilitate alignment across business, platform, security, and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• Experience in governance, risk, compliance, FinOps, or cloud platform management.
• Understanding of AI governance principles and enterprise technology governance frameworks.
• Experience managing cloud consumption, cost reporting, or FinOps activities.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
