Job summary

Nordea is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to drive AI-powered solutions for detecting and investigating financial crime. The role is permanent and can be based in Helsinki, Tallinn, Poland or Stockholm, with flexible hybrid arrangements.

You will design PoCs, ensure regulatory compliance, define production readiness, and lead cross-team initiatives while managing risks, access, and costs in a scalable cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Cloud-native expert designing and building prod-grade apps on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Proficient Python development and managing complex Terraform environments.
• Experience with AI/ML platforms and data platforms (S3, Glue, Lake Formation).
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across domains.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement proof-of-concept AI platform solutions spanning predictive, generative, and agentic workflows.
• Ensure applications comply with rules and regulations and define production readiness.
• Lead technical working groups and translate strategy into guidance for teams.
• Manage application risks, access rules, and cost governance.

Job ID: 3525 We are looking for an AI Platform Engineer to drive the development and adoption of AI-powered solutions that strengthen our ability to detect and investigate financial crime. The role is permanent and can be based in Helsinki, Tallinn, Poland or Stockholm.

About Our Team

Meet the Data and Platform Team. Our role is to improve how we detect and investigate financial crime with the help of AI and machine learning to keep our customers, Nordea and society safe. Our team is about 25 people working out of Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen as a part of the Group Financial Crime Prevention (GFCP) unit that provides financial crime prevention services to all of the bank.

Main responsibilities in this role

• Design and implement proof-of-concept solutions for the AI Platform spanning predictive, generative and agentic workflows.


• Secure that applications are compliant in accordance with rules and regulations.


• Define production readiness and operational governance.


• Lead technical working groups and cross-team synchronization.


• Translate strategic direction into tactical technical guidance for the teams.


• Application risk management - manage risks and QRAs.


• Application access management - access rules and requirements.


• Application cost management - ensure cost efficient applications.


• Application incident management - secure proper communication and reporting.

Your background and skills include

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.


• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud native expert in designing and building production grade applications and services on AWS and other cloud providers (Azure or GCP).


• Practical experience with Python development and managing complex environments with Terraform.


• Experience working with AI/ML platforms such as Amazon SageMaker, Bedrock, AgentCore and Data platforms such as S3, AWS Glue, Lake Formation.


• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple domains, including expectations management.

It would be ideal if you also

• Experience with agile methodologies and product development lifecycle.


• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, architecture, and data science teams.


• Have professional experience from working in regulated industries, i.e. Banking, Government, etc.
