Job summary

Kruko is seeking a software engineer to build AI-native software in an AI-driven development environment. You will design, develop and maintain web apps using Python and modern frontend tech, with Claude Code as a core part of the workflow.

You will own features end-to-end, design and integrate REST APIs, work with Docker and relational databases, and collaborate with global teams to continuously improve workflows and delivery quality.

Qualifications

• Practical experience delivering production software using Python and modern backend frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or comparable agentic coding tools in real development work.
• Ability to organise effective AI-assisted workflows: task planning, context management, implementation, testing and verification.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs and relational databases.
• Practical experience with Docker, Git and modern development workflows.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML and CSS (React or Vue is a plus).
• Enough engineering knowledge to critically evaluate AI-generated code and spot risks.
• Strong ownership, independence and initiative: you take responsibility for results and can work through ambiguity.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability, curiosity and efficiency.

Requirements

• Practical experience delivering production software using Python and modern backend frameworks. We care about engineering fundamentals, not framework-specific expertise

• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or comparable agentic coding tools in real development work

• Ability to organise effective AI-assisted workflows: task planning, context management, implementation, testing and verification

• Solid understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs and relational databases

• Practical experience with Docker, Git and modern development workflows

• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML and CSS (React or Vue is a plus)

• Enough engineering knowledge to critically evaluate AI-generated code and spot incorrect assumptions, security, performance and maintainability risks

• Strong ownership, independence and initiative: you take responsibility for results and can work through ambiguity

• Availability to work on a Pacific Time (PT) schedule

Nice to have:

• Experience building custom Claude Code workflows, subagents, skills or development automation

• Experience coordinating multiple AI agents or parallel development tasks

• Experience with LLM integrations, OpenAI APIs, Twilio or similar services

• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing and cloud infrastructure

• Experience with complex business applications and large existing codebases
