Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Katowice, Poland, seeks an AI Engineer to design, develop, and operationalize GenAI and LLM solutions within the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) AI Center of Excellence. You will own end-to-end deployments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and adoption in production.

You will report to the Senior Director, Digital Transformation and work in a hybrid schedule in Katowice, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver value across operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML, or applied data systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and building production-grade services and automation pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying GenAI/LLM-based applications.

Responsibilities

  • GenAI solution ownership: design and deploy GenAI apps, including RAG pipelines and agent-based workflows.
  • Architecture & quality: define architectures, guardrails, prompt design, testing, and versioning for scalable solutions.
  • Operations & adoption: automate build, test, deployment, monitoring, and feedback; ensure governance and data handling standards.
  • Collaboration & enablement: work with ISC AI COE and business users to align on priorities and enable low-code practitioners.

Job Description

Rockwell Automation is seeking an AI Engineer within the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) AI Center of Excellence. The AI Engineer will design, develop, and operationalize Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions. These solutions will deliver measurable value across supply chain operations. You will own solutions end‑to‑end for defined use cases and applies strong technical judgment to ensure solutions are reliable, scalable, and adopted in production. You will report to the Senior Director, Digital Transformation and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.


Your Responsibilities


  • GenAI Solution Ownership Design and develop GenAI applications, including RAG pipelines, prompt orchestration, and agent‑based workflows, with supporting Python automation where appropriate. Select appropriate models, tools, and frameworks based on quality, latency, cost, and security requirements. Own solutions from design through production deployment for assigned use cases spanning document intelligence, knowledge assistants, and process automation.

  • Architecture & Quality Define solution architectures aligned with Rockwell's Azure AI platform standards, enterprise guardrails, and ISC data governance requirements. Establish best practices for prompt design, evaluation, testing, and versioning across a shared service delivery model. Ensure solutions meet reliability, scalability, and maintainability expectations across custom Python services, Azure‑hosted components, and low‑code integrations.

  • Operations & Adoption Implement automated build, test, deployment, monitoring, and feedback practices for solutions running in Microsoft‑centric enterprise environments. Coordinate user acceptance testing, gather structured feedback, and incorporate operational signals to continuously improve solution quality and drive adoption. Ensure compliance with Rockwell AI policies, risk controls, and data handling standards throughout development and deployment.

  • Collaboration & Enablement Work closely with the ISC AI COE lead and senior stakeholders to receive use case context, validate technical approaches, and align on priorities. Coordinate testing cycles and feedback loops with business users to validate solution behavior and surface improvement opportunities. Enable low‑code/no‑code practitioners and business SMEs to effectively use GenAI‑powered tools and automated workflows.


The Essentials - You Will Have


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML, or applied data systems.

  • Python proficiency with experience building production‑grade services and automation pipelines.

  • Hands‑on experience designing and deploying GenAI / LLM‑based applications.


The Preferred - You Might Also Have


  • Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases, and GenAI evaluation techniques.

  • Familiarity with Azure AI services and cloud‑native deployment patterns.

  • Experience integrating solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Graph API in enterprise environments.

  • Identified automation opportunities and delivered scripted and workflow‑based solutions using AI tools.

  • Collaborated effectively within structured delivery models and cross‑functional technical teams.
