Job summary

VELUX is seeking a motivated Accounting Intern (Umowa Zlecenie) in Warsaw for students in their 4th or 5th year, targeting about 30 hours per week with a mix of in‑office and remote work.

You will support daily accounting tasks, maintain process docs, prepare reports and dashboards, and assist with meetings. Proficiency in Excel is required; familiarity with SAP and ServiceNow is a plus. Fluent English and Polish are essential, and you must handle data with accuracy and discretion.

• Enrolled in a Master's degree programme in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Fluent in English and Polish (written and spoken).
• Strong attention to detail with financial data and routine accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the Accounting team in daily operational activities, including document processing, vendor account maintenance, and handling requests via shared mailboxes.
• Assist in maintaining and updating process documentation, work instructions, and team knowledge repositories.
• Collect, prepare, and organize data for reports, dashboards, KPI tracking, and other management information needs.
• Prepare materials for meetings and support the team by taking notes, documenting actions, and following up on next steps.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by gathering data, supporting process reviews, and problem-solving.
• Develop knowledge of Accounting processes, systems, and tools through training, job shadowing, and hands-on involvement.
• Provide general administrative support, including coordinating meetings, maintaining trackers, and assisting with team events and knowledge-sharing activities.

Job description

We are looking for a student to join our team as an Accounting Intern (Umowa Zlecenie). The successful candidate will be in their fourth or fifth year of study (Master´s degree programme) and willing to work an average of 30 hours per week. Around 40% of the work should be carried out in the office, the remainder can be done remotely.

Your responsibilities:

• Support the Accounting team in daily operational activities, including document processing, vendor account maintenance, and handling incoming requests through shared mailboxes.
• Assist in maintaining and updating process documentation, work instructions, and team knowledge repositories to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
• Collect, prepare, and organize data for reports, dashboards, KPI tracking, and other management information needs.
• Prepare materials for meetings and support the team by taking notes, documenting actions, and following up on agreed next steps.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by gathering data, supporting process reviews, and participating in problem‑solving activities.
• Develop knowledge of Accounting processes, systems, and tools through training, job shadowing, and hands‑on involvement in daily operations.
• Provide general administrative support, including coordinating meetings, maintaining trackers, and assisting with team events, workshops, and knowledge‑sharing activities.

Our requirements:

• Currently enrolled on a Master's degree programme in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Fluent English and Polish language skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data, documentation, and routine accounting tasks.
• Good analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and work with numerical data.
• Good skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., sorting, filtering, and basic formulas) and willingness to learn accounting and workflow systems such as SAP and ServiceNow.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive attitude toward learning and contributing in a team environment.
• Reliable, adaptable, and service‑oriented, with a high level of professionalism, ownership, and commitment to confidentiality when handling financial information.
